Elscint Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding various sizes of caps

Elscint recently supplied a vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of various sizes of caps, right from diameter 30 mm to diameter 60 mm with heights ranging from 25 mm to 40 mm.

Orientation –

The requirement was to get them with open side down, one behind the other. Elscint used its model 400 with a cast aluminium bowl. The tooling was made in stainless steel while the bowl was coating with Elscinthane PU coating. An adjustable “wiper” was provided for ensuring that only flat caps come forward. Scallops were provided for each cap to ensure that orientation was 100% correct. The caps came in open side facing sky orientation at the end of the bowl.

Gravity Chute-

Thereafter a gravity chute was provided to ensure that they were made into “open side facing ground”. This was made in a wire chute, again with adjustable tooling. A separate base plate was provided for mounting the bowl and the gravity chute.

Auto-Switch off –

An infrared sensor was mounted on the chute to stop the bowl feeder once the chute was full.

Speed / Feed Rate –

Speed required was between 80 to 120 caps per minute depending upon the size of the cap. Elscint could achieve speed ranging from 100 to 150 caps per minute.

Delivery –

The customer required two bowl feeders and both were completed in record time to the satisfaction of the customer.
