Innovative Usage of Vibratory Bowl Feeders – Vibratory bowl feeder for feeding Special Nuts

Elscint, the leading vibratory bowl feeder manufacturer from India recently manufactured a vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of special nuts. The nuts were flat and having a curved portion on one side making the orientation difficult. However, Elscint perfected the orientation by providing three places for confirmation of the orientation. The special nuts were required to come out in two outlets making it more critical. Additionally, a 600 mm long linear track and a non-vibrating pick up point was provided at the end of the linear track for easy part pick up by the customer’s pick and place unit. The whole system was mounted on a single post stand having a (+/-) 100 mm height adjustment. In order to increase the life of the equipment, Elscint used hardened and ground parts for not only the linear track but also the orientation plates as the special nuts were hard. Elscint unit its Model 250 vibratory bowl feeder with a cast aluminium bowl lined with Elscinthane PU coating. The parts being metallic, the Elscinthane PU coating eliminated the metal to metal contact between the bowl and the metallic components, thus reducing the noise level to just 70 Db. A total of 2 such systems were delivered to the customer.
