Innovative Usage of Vibratory Bowl feeder -Vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of various screws to Eddy Current Testing Machine

Elscint recently completed an assignment wherein the requirement was to feed various types of screws for testing to an Eddy Current Testing Machine. There were various sizes of screws right from M4 x 20 mm length to M16 x 120 mm length. A single bowl feeder was required for the same. Elscint used its Model 630 with a bowl diameter of approximately 1050 mm. This ensured that even the biggest part of M16 x 120 mm length was fed as well the storage too was enough in the bowl. Further, a linear vibrator was provided with adjustable tooling which again ensured that all these parts were fed properly. Ahead of the linear vibrator, a pneumatic singulator was placed which released one screw at a time on receipt of a signal from the Eddy Current Testing Machine. To make changeover easy, Elscint provided separate tooling fixtures for each of the screws with separate pneumatic cylinders. The changeover was on just 4 screws, making it very easy for the operator. Additionally, a stand with height adjustment was provided to ensure adjustment from 700 mm to 1100 mm to match the input height of the Eddy Current Testing Machine. The bowl was coated with Elscinthane PU coating for reduction in noise level as well as better performance.
